Mellow's Room and the Clocky Tutorial

The short version

The prologue is the game's tutorial. It teaches the two core mechanics — point-and-click examination and first-person fist combat — inside Mellow's house before you reach the wider world.

Step 1: the bedroom

The room is centered on a computer. The tutorial wants you to:

1. Plug in the computer and turn it on.
2. Open doors.exe from the interface.
3. Click the now-unlocked door to leave the bedroom.
4. Explore the hallway and enter the bathroom.

Scan the whole room first: the hanging light, wall clock, calendar, framed face, desk, chair, floor, and edges. Hidden hotspots often matter later.

Step 2: the bathroom and the plunger

In the bathroom you find a plunger. Use it on the toilet to trigger a short, strange conversation with a toilet character. This is the demo's signature "crawl down a toilet" beat and the trigger for the bathroom ending in the demo build.

Verified detail: the plunger is the item that starts the bathroom sequence — keep it in mind, because "tools, toys, and trash" recur as puzzle pieces throughout the game.

Step 3: meeting Clocky

After the bathroom you meet Clocky, a clock-monster with razor claws. Clocky is the combat tutorial:

• Block right before an attack connects — holding block constantly drains stamina.
• Dodge openings, then punch during the openings.
• Let stamina recover between exchanges.

Once Clocky falls, the house sequence ends and you move into the real adventure (the Green Hills hub and the three-sense recovery).

What this tutorial is really teaching

Two lessons carry through the whole game:

1. Examine everything. The bedroom trains you to click objects, read responses, and notice state changes.
2. Combat is light and readable. Every later boss reuses the same block/dodge/punch rhythm, just with new attack patterns.
